Company History

Spine Wave was founded in February 2001 by Mark LoGuidice and John Pafford, former executives for Sofamor Danek, to commercialize the Company’s proprietary injectable spinal nucleus technology. The simultaneous Series A financing and acquisition of VERTx in 2002, a company founded and led by Tyler Lipschultz, gave Spine Wave a novel technology focused on the rapidly growing vertebral compression fracture and spinal fusion market. In April 2007, the Company closed its Series D financing, raising an additional $45 million.

Today, the Company is focused on the development and marketing of clinical solutions for large and fast growing spinal market segments. The Company’s product portfolio includes the StaXx® XD Expandable Device, the CapSure® PS Spine System, the StaXx® FX Fracture Repair System, the NuCore® Injectable Nucleus, and several additional products in development.
